Apartment Reporting Form
WARNING: IF YOUR GAS SUPPLY HAS BEEN SWITCHED OFF, PLEASE REMEMBER WHICH WAY YOUR GAS APPLIANCE'S KNOB'S SHOULD BE POSITIONED TO REMAIN IN THE OFF POSITION. FAILING TO DO SO COULD BE LETHAL FOR YOU AND OTHERS IN THE APARTMENT BLOCK
All non-urgent apartment repairs are not carried out on the FIRST and THIRD Saturday of each month. Please submit your non-urgent maintenance reports on the form below. You can then expect Little Brother to call around your apartment with his team on the first or third Saturday, whichever is next.
Last submissions need to be by 6pm, the Wednesday before a scheduled repair Saturday. This is to allow the FAO enough time to translate submissions and hand them over to Little Brother. If you wish to be present during any repairs or investigations, Little Brother will book a time with you on a repair Saturday. If you are teaching on Saturdays, he will see one teacher at 8pm. This means you may need to wait until the next repair date if he is already booked out.
REMEMBER: If you are without electricity, there is every chance your power has been switched off or tripped out at the fuse box. Please do not file a report to remedy this until you have checked your fuse box (usually just outside your apartment door). If after checking your fuse box, all is seemingly in order, and your power still does not work, call the FAO.
Water and supplies are switched off from time to time, usually for up to 24 hours, sometimes longer. This is beyond the control of the school. We always try to warn teachers of a pending water supply cut, via email, when we have been notified by the water authorities. However, this is not always possible. You are advised to store a bucket of water in your bathroom so you may still flush if water is suddenly cut, without notice.
Water leaks from any water appliances (taps, shower, washing machine and toilet) will be registered by your water meter. This means you could end up with a hefty water bill.
The school will endeavour to respond to all apartment issues in a timely manner. Teachers are reminded that call-outs for matters such as switching on electricity via the fuse box or unlocking doors, or for situations that is the fault of the teacher will result in a 50rmb call-out fee during school business hours (8.30am - 7pm, 7 days); 200rmb outside school business hours and 500rmb during national holidays. Teachers are liable for all repair costs that are deemed beyond the scope of normal 'wear and tear.'
The school carries out maintenance on teacher properties so that the teacher does not have to deal directly with the landlord. Teachers may converse directly with their landlord if they choose. Ask the FAO for landlord details.
